Last night, I attended the wedding of a dear friend I’ve known almost twenty years. And of all the weddings I’ve attended, watching Bethany marry Josh was quite possible the most tear-jerking. It overflowed with significant personal touches — and such genuine love.
From one of the bride’s brothers playing a trumpet call as she entered the church — remeniscent of ancient Jewish brides, who were announced with the shofar — to the beautiful dance performed during the ceremony by the bride’s other brother and his wife, the bride’s sister and her husband (all of whom met one another because of working within a dance ministry at their church), and a friend, to the very location of the reception, a family-owned wedding venue where the bride’s sister also got married, it was a gorgeous, very emotional evening.
And now, Bethany and Josh might possibly top that experience as they enjoy their honeymoon in the Bahamas! Have a great time, you two!
