I attended another wedding on Saturday, when my friend from middle school, Michelle, wed Brian in a red and black ceremony at their church in Palm Coast, Florida.
The bride smiled through the whole ceremony, and the groom looked dashing in his Army dress uniform decorated with a handful of medals from his tours of Iraq. During the ceremony, the bride’s brother, a youth pastor, put several questions to the pair: “Do you promise to encourage and support one another? Do you promise to pray together? Do you promise to read the Bible with your children?”
The whole wedding was a real family affair. One sister-in-law sang a song, while another worked the entire event as photographer. But my favorite moment was easily when Michelle’s five-year-old daughter, a flower girl, crept down the aisle — in a miniature veil, like Mom!
It was a happy beginning for what I hope will be a happy lifetime together for the couple. Congrats!
